On the 17th we in Concerts For Change teamed up with Anke van Lenteren and Thomas Bjelkeman to make a birthday party for them in their own garden. Our goal was to raise as much money as possible to the ‘Bags for water’ project. It’s a project on the Akvo page and it’s got number 163 there. (You can also see the project on the right here in the widget panel).

In total we were about 55 people gathered that enjoy good food, drinks and music performed by our friend Tom Levin that gladly came and also supported the cause by donating his gage to the cause.Thanks Tom for your kind support and your great songs that we all enjoyed!

We raised about 6000 Swedish krona (about $820) and we’re happy for that, but more is needed so follow this link and support our cause you too!

Bags for Water

About the Cause

The Mahalar Aran Trust at Dharmapuri in Tamil Nadu offers counselling, housing, job training and support for women in need (abused, divorced, abandoned, widowed). After a period of skills training, www.viadesign.org employs some of the women to make a range of textile based products. The trust also runs a farm where they grow food, keep cows for the milk (and dung, which produces biogas!) and hundreds of chickens.Part of the revenues from the bags sold will benefit the people who live here. The other part will go to providing water at street level for the project below.

Water for Asrada, Dheemanpalli, Gathampakala:

With the help of VJNNS, we visited 3 villages in the Eastern Ghats, India. This NGO works to improve the lives of the very poor – health, education, water and sanitation.
It was fascinating to spend time with the villagers in the mountains. Some spent as much as 6 hours a day fetching water (women and their young daughters).

The aim of our fund-raising effort is to make water available in the village itself.

Just nu håller vi på med uppdatering och förändring av vår webbplattform, samtidigt går vi helt över på Svenska och fokuserar vårt arbete till den Svenska marknaden. Men med ett Internationellt tänk kring vår verksamhet.

Kommande Evenemang

Då vi har varit inblandade i andras verksamhet under hösten, vintern och förvåren har vår egen verksamhet legat nere. Men nu är vi i full gång med att planera ett Evenemang som kommer att äga rum under tidig höst. Se information längre fram här på vår webbplats.
